'Private William Bowyer enlisted on the 4th January 1915 at Abergavenny, Wales into the 3rd Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment. He landed in France on the 22nd July 1916 and was posted to the 1st Battalion. He later served with the 5th Battalionn of the South Wales Borderers and was discharged in 1918.
