A scarce original 1902 Edwardian period '8th Volunteer Battalion Royal Scots shooting prize medal'; small bronze shield with ornate border, the centre bearing the Scottish 'Order of the Thistle' embossed badge with motto 'Nemo me impune lacessit (No one harms me with impunity), the reverse inscribed '8th V.B.R.S. LONG RANGE COMPETITION Lce Cp J.Main 1902'.
Very good condition, complete with original ring suspension fitting.
