His Masters Voice HMV 1940 on war service badge
A scarce original wartime period 'His Master's Voice Gramophone Company home front lady worker pin badge'; gilt brass circular example inlaid with patriotic red, white and blue enamelling, the centre with 'H.M.V. 1940' and bearing a 'V' for victory sign; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent Street Birmingham' and official issue number '5643'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.

The Gramophone Company (HMV) was situated in Hayes, Middlesex, the factory turned to the production of munitions during the Second World War also radio equipment for the government. The site was bombed on 7 July 1944 killing 37 employees.
