A good original circa 1947 to 1970 period 'Institute of Operating Theatre Technicians gilt and enamel pin badge', bearing the Latin motto 'Causam Humanitatis Servio' (I serve the cause of humanity); the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Regent St Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter 23mm.
Founded in 1945 as the 'Association of Operating Theatre Technicians' AOTT.
In 1947 the name was changed to the 'Institute of Operating Theatre Technicians' IOTT.
In 1970 the 'Operating Department Assistants' ODA.
