WW2 Auxiliary Fire Service AFS firemans Hm.1939 silver badge by Charles Horner
A very scarce original Second World War period fine quality 'Auxiliary Fire Service silver lapel badge' the reverse impressed with Chester silver hallmarks for 1939 and the very distinct trademark intertwined initials 'CH' of the very collected maker 'Charles Horner' of Mickey Mouse fame. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting.
Height 28mm.
In 1941 the 'Auxiliary Fire Service' and the local authority fire brigades were amalgamated to become the 'National Fire Service'.
