BWRS Bundles For Britain official American war workers pin badge

A scarce original Second World War period USA charity aid to Great Britain official 'Bundles For Britain pin badge' large hollow gilt example, bearing shield with British lion and Latin motto 'Dieu et mon droit' (God and my right) superimposed over red, white and blue hand painted patriotic drapes; the reverse impressed 'Official Bundles For Britain Inc.' and 'U.S.PAT.123071'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings with safety roller catch in good working order, paint enamel finish remains intact.
Height approx 43mm.
Bundles for Britain was started in 1940 by Mrs. Latham as a knitting circle in a store front in New York. By 1941 they were shipping ambulances, surgical instruments, medicines, field-kitchen units to aid people in Great Britain bombed out of their homes.
