RMS Empress of Ireland gilt and enamel picture brooch HOOK ABSENT
A rare original circa 1906 to 1914 period 'R.M.S. Empress of Ireland shipping line pin badge'; ornate gilt metal heart shaped surround set with turquoise stones, the central disc bearing a hand painted representation of the Canadian Pacific steamship. Good condition, complete with original pin fitting, HOOK now absent, no damage to the enamel, very minor surface scratches, one turquoise stone now absent. Price reflects.

The R.M.S. Empress of Ireland was built for the 'Canadian Pacific Steamship Company' by 'Fairfield Shipbuilding & Eng Co Govan' and was launched in 1906. She sank after a collision with SS Storstad on 29 May 1914.
