A scarce original First World War period 16th Recruiting Area pin badge'; gilt brass green enamel title circlet, the top displaced by a George V crown, the
recessed centre with bold 'R' with scroll below bearing an abbreviated white title scroll 'M.A.R.O.' possibly for ( ? Army Recruiting Office); the reverse impressed with London maker's details 'JAW&Co' (J A Wylie & Co). Good condition, complete with original pin fitting, period replacement hook, minor enamel flaws.
