A scarce original First World War period 'Voluntary Aid Detachment VAD General Service' large circular embroidered felt cloth badge, worn by a member of the joint War Organisation of the 'British Red Cross Society and Order of St John'. Good condition, complete with fawn herringbone backing, minor service wear.
