Royal Infirmary Sheffield 1936 silver nurses hospital badge
A good original circa 1930's period 'Royal Infirmary Sheffield silver nurses qualification badge' in the form of 'Maltese Cross' inlaid with vivid emerald green enamel, depicting a Crowned laurel wreath with initials "RIS" to the centre, suspended from a silver bar inscribed '4 Years'; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1936 and maker's details 'V&S' (Vaughton & Sons, Birmingham), inscribed 'M.Myers 1937'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
