Church of England Temperance Benefit Society 1902 silver medal
A very scarce original Edwardian period 'Church of England Temperance Benefit Society 1902 silver badge' in the form of a ornate cross bearing blue enamel title surround 'FOUNDED 1878' the centre depicting clasped hands in relief, suspended from a red silk ribbon and suspension bar surmounted by a 'Bishops Mitre Hat' and 'C.E.T.B.S' initials; the reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1902, maker's details 'J.F' (James Fenton) and inscribed 'B.Hobbis 1902'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, minor split to the ribbon.
