WW1 Frances Day 1917 fundraising badge
A scarce original First World War period British made 'Frances Day 1917 gilt and enamel badge' worn by volunteers collecting for the cause, in the form of a good quality gilt frame surround, bearing an embossed head and shoulder profile of the 'French National Symbol 'Marianne' wearing the 'Cap of Liberty'in vivid red and blue enamelling; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Bolton'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fitting, gilt finish remains bright. An excellent example.
