Boer War Coat of arms of the Transvaal gold brooch
A very scarce original pre 1902 period 'Boer War South African Republic coat of arms pin badge' in the form of a gold eagle perched on an oval crest, shield with anchor to centre, lion and a man to upper half, ox-wagon below, draped with three flags either side and bearing the motto 'Eendragt maakt magt' (Oneness makes might), this in turn is mounted on an ornate hollow triangular bar with ball ends, the reverse impressed '9ct' (9 carat gold). Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, left side of bar a little pinched.
