A scarce original pre-1953 period 'H M Customs and Excise Officers cap badge'; King George VI red velvet padded crown surmounting gold bullion laurel wreath, bearing silvered Portcullis to the centre, the reverse with black woven cotton lining.Very good used condition.
Height approx 73mm.

Formed in 1909 by the merger of HM Customs and HM Excise, primary for the collection of customs duties, excise duties, and other indirect taxes.
