A rare original First World War period Volunteer Training Corps 'Manchester Athletes Volunteer Force badge'; small circular red, white and blue enamel example, crossed rifles to the centre and inscribed 'READY FOR THE CALL'; the reverse with early style round buttonhole fitting impressed with a low issue number '375'. Very good condition, no damage to the enamel.
