WW1 Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Company aircraft production war service badge

A very rare original First World War period 'On His Majestys Service 'OHMS Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Company aircraft production war workers pin badge'; large gilt oval example bearing embossed winged propeller to the centre on light blue enamel ground, within the title scrolls 'O.H.M.S. Blackburn Aeroplanes'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Fattorini & Sons Bradford'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.

The Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Company was founded in 1914 and produced aircraft for the Royal Flying Corps. The company's name was changed to Blackburn Aircraft Limited in 1936.
