WW1 National Reserve Channel Islands Guernsey and Alderney home front badge

A very scarce original First World War period 'National Reserve Channel Islands Guernsey and Alderney lapel badge'; Crowned green enamel gilt oval title, white enamel shield bearing Norman motto 'Diex Aie' (God be with us), and three Lions Leoparde to voided centre, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London'. Very good condition, complete original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, a few minor flaws, gilt finish remains bright.
