WW1 Australian Volunteered For Active Service Medically Unfit officially numbered badge
A good original First World War circa 1916 -1919 period 'Volunteer Medically Unfit Badge' issued to those who had volunteered for active service abroad from 1 July 1915, but who were deemed medically unfit; circular silver plated example, bearing Australian Coat of Arms in relief and inscribed to surround VOLUNTEERED FOR ACTIVE SERVICE' 'ISSUED BY DEPARTMENT OF DEFENCE' 'MEDICALLY UNFIT'; the reverse impressed with official issue number '63278' and complete with two horizontal loops. Very good condition.
