National Union of Railwaymen NUR Orphan Service 1935 silver fob

A scarce original circa 1935 fine quality 'National Union of Railwaymen fob badge'; deco style rectangular pendant with domed top, the panels displaying a rose, thistle and leek, the central recessed square with embossed mother holding baby inscribed 'In our care' inland with yellow translucent enamel, below the entwined initials 'NUR Orphan Service' on black enamel ground. The reverse impressed with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1935 and maker's details 'JT&Co' (J Taylor & Co Ely Place, London). Very good condition, complete with replacement suspension ring, no damage to the enamel.
Height without ring approx 31mm.
