BBC Radio Sunbeams childrens hour club membership badge

A scarce original early 1930's 'BBC Radio Sunbeams badge'; gilt brass circular example, title circlet inlaid with blue enamel, the centre depicting a rising sun in gold translucent enamel with rabbit and bird on green enamel ground to the fore; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Miller 118 Branston St. B'Ham' (backmark pattern 1931 to 1934). Very good condition, complete original pin fittings, minor service wear to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.

From 1923 the British Broadcasting Company formed Radio Circles, they were clubs for Children's Hour listeners. A membership fee was paid and a badge was given. The BBC decided to end the Radio Circles in 1934.
