WW1 Brunner Mond & Co Ltd on war service munition workers badge
A scarce original early Great War period 'On War Service badge'; large circular gilded brass example, the top surmounted by a Rose, Thistle and Shamrock the united emblems of England, Scotland and Ireland; the centre with red enamel crescent and initials 'BM&Co' within a blue enamel title surround 'Brunner Mond & Co Ltd Making War Material'; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'T. Fattorini Bolton' and 'Reg 638232' a registered, design and patent date of 1914 and complete with official low issue number '615'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright, an excellent example.
