BOAC Airline silver and gilt metal officers cap badge circa 1940's

A scarce original circa 1940's British Overseas Airways Corporation BOAC cap badge', finely detailed early pattern silver plated griffin on torse, within a gilt metal oak wreath surmounted by an astral crown, all set on black felt backing, the reverse with brown hessian waxed lining. Very good used condition.
Height 61mm.

British Overseas Airways Corporation was formed in 1939, BOAC and BEA merged in 1974 to form British Airways.
