WW1 Buckinghamshire Voluntary Aid Detachment VAD badge

A superb original First World War period 'Voluntary Aid Detachment Bucks pin badge'; Crowned gilt oval example bearing a white 'Swan' to half black half red enamel centre, within blue enamel title surround, the reverse with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt London' and official low issue number '781'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright, light surface scratches only.
