WW1 County Borough of Blackburn 1914 Special Constable Police badge

A scarce original First World War period 'County Borough of Blackburn Special Constable Police badge'; large gilt and blue enamel title circlet, bearing Crowned 1914 scroll, the centre displaying in relief the former Borough of Blackburn and Borough of Darwen Coat of Arms with motto 'Arte et Labore' (by skill and labour) in coloured enamels; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Bolton' and low official issue number '261'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, enamel with minor service wear, gilt finish remains bright.
