WW1 Durham Special County Constable Group Leader numbered police badge
A rare original First World War period 'Durham Special County Constable Group Leader large gilt badge', blue enamel title circlet with additional scroll 'GROUP LEADER', the centre bearing an embossed blue shield with red cross and rampant lions in each quarter, believed to represent the Coat of Arms from Durham Cathedral; the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Fattorini Bradford' and official issue number '250'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright. An excellent example.
