WW1 United Alkali Co Ltd Liverpool on war service workers numbered badge
A scarce original First World War period patriotic 'Serving The Empire United Alkali Co Ltd war workers badge'; gilt brass circular example surmounted by a Crown, the title surround inlaid with blue enamel, the centre displaying an embossed 'UAC' monogram over the symbol of unity a pair of shaking hands, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'T.Fattorini Bolton' and official issue number '1101'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel.

The 'United Alkali Company Limited' Cunard Building, Liverpool, was a British chemical company formed in 1890. It became one of the top four chemical companies which merged in 1926 with Brunner Mond, Nobel Explosives and British Dyestuffs Corporation to form Imperial Chemical Industries.
