Honourable Order of the Grand Star Primrose League second grade political badge

A good original Victorian period 'Primrose League Decoration of the Grand Star Second Grade badge'; large unmarked star, cut in brilliant silver facets, mounted with gilt Garter inlaid with blue enamelling, bearing the legend 'Imperium Et Libertas' (Empire and liberty), surmounted by an Imperial Crown and yellow enamel primrose centre. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings and central hook to accomodate a ribbon, enamel with very minor flaw to top of Garter.
Height approx 58mm.

Conferred on Members of the Primrose League for special meritorious service.
