Womens Land Army WLA hat & uniform badge Marples & Beasley

A fine quality scarce original Second World War period 'Womens Land Army badge', gilded brass example inlaid with green enamel to central wheatsheaf and red enamel to the Crown, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'Marples & Beasley Birmingham'. Very good condition, complete wth original pin fittings, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.
Height 36mm.

Worn on the felt hat and also on the uniform green jumper, discontinued after 1942 due to the metal shortage.
