Airwork Services Limited gold bullion brevet wing badge British Airline circa pre 1960

A scarce original circa pre 1960's 'Airwork Limited brevet badge', large gold bullion embroidery wing on felt cloth backing, the grey woven ribbed centre bearing 'WA' initial, the reverse with black hessian lining. Very good used condition, bullion remains bright.
Width approx 82mm.

'Airwork Services Limited' was formed in 1928.
It ceased operations in 1960 when it merged with Hunting-Clan Air Transport to form British United Airway.
Airwork Services Limited had a long and rich history in providing a variety of defence support services to the Royal Air Force, Fleet Air Arm and overseas air forces.
