Solar Air Services British Airline pilot's wing badge

A very scarce original circa 1947 to 1950 short lived period 'Solar Air Services airline officers' pilot wing badge', black felt example bearing gold bullion embroidered wings, the central shield displaying an Astral Crowned 'S' logo, the reverse with black waxed lining. Very good used condition, bullion remains bright, removed from uniform.
Width approx 88mm.

'Solar Air Services' formed in 1947 by S.Yager at White Waltham Aerodrome, Berkshire. Ceased operations in 1950.
