WW2 Mechanised Transport Training Corps MTTC women's cap badge

A scarce original early Second World War 1939 to 1940 period 'Mechanised Transport Training Corps hat badge' in the form of a die-cast bronzed motor car wheel and tyre, the voided centre bearing crossed spanners each with a raised letter 'MTTC' with motto scroll below 'Pro Patria'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.
Height 30mm.

The 'Mechanised Transport Training Corps' MTTC was formed in Feb 1939 as a women's voluntary civilian organisation. It was recognised by the Ministry of War Transport in 1940 and renamed the 'Mechanised Transport Corps' MTC, and its members were conscripted and received pay.
