Talyllyn Railway Company Preservation Society badge by Pinches London c.1950's
A scarce original circa 1950's vintage period 'Talyllyn Railway Company lapel badge', gilt brass example in the form of a blue enamel title strap, bearing 'Prince of Wales' plumes to the centre, with additional title scroll below 'Preservation Society'; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'Pinches London' concealed under the lapel. Very good condition, complete with original horseshoe buttonhole fitting, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.

The Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society was founded in 1951 after the closure of the Welsh 'Rheilffordd Talyllyn' in October 1950. The independent Talyllyn Railway was incorporated in 1865 and opened during following year. It was used to carry slate from the quarries at Bryn Eglwys to Tywyn.
