WW1 David Colville & Sons O.H.M.S Works on war service badge

A scarce original First World War period On His Majesty"s Service Works 'David Colville & Sons Limited' gilt and enamel lapel badge, the reverse impressed with maker's details 'W.J.Dingley B'Ham' and official issue number '1656'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel.
Diameter 26mm.

'David Colville & Sons' was founded in 1871 and opened its Dalzell Steel and Iron Works at Motherwell near Glasgow, Scotland.
