WW1 Black Watch Regiment silver war badge
A good original First World War period 'Silver War Badge officially issue numbered '416448', awarded to '3246 Private William Mitchell'; unmarked silver circlet inscribed 'For King And Empire Services Rendered' bearing crowned 'GRI' Imperial Cypher to voided centre. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, pin an old replacement.
Diameter 33mm.
Awarded to 3246 Private William Mitchell, who on the 27th February 1916 enlisted into the Black Watch. Serving in France he was wounded and later transferred to the Labour Corps, serving with the Irish Command. He was discharged on the 27th June 1918 and was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
