The Burns Federation bicentenary commemorative badge Scottish poet of romanticism
A scarce original circa 1959 'Robert Burns bicentenary commemorative badge' issued by the 'The Burns Federation' in the form of a gilt and enamel oval medallion, the blue horseshoe title surround enclosed by the date 1885 the year it was founded, the centre displaying the literary society's logo, a bird standing on twig over a white shield with crook, horn and green tree and suspended from a blue bar dated '1759 - 1959'. Very good mint condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect, gilt remains bright.
