Royal Navy HMS Delhi April 1923 bronze commemorative medal

A scarce original circa 1923 period 'HMS Delhi bronze medal', the obverse displaying an emboosed side view of an Indian Elephant within floral decoration; the reverse impressed 'APRIL 1923'. Very good condition, complete with original suspension ring.
Diameter 26mm.

HMS Delhi was chosen in 1923, along with her sisters Danae, Dauntless, Dragon and Dunedin, for the Empire Cruise of the Special Service Squadron, representing the most modern and most powerful cruisers of the Royal Navy, as escorts to the battlecruisers Hood and Repulse.
