WW2 Royal Navy HMS Hood silver and enamel bar brooch

A rare original superb wartime period 'H.M.S.Hood sweetheart badge'; in the form of a finely detailed large Cornish chough and anchor from the crest of 'Admiral Hood' resting on title scroll inlaid with green enamel and mounted to a slender bar, the reverse impressed 'Silver'. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect.

HMS Hood went down in Naval History following her disastrous engagement with the German Battleship 'Bismarck' in May 1941.
