WW1 Boy Scouts war service Scout Defence Corps hat badge

A very rare original First World War 1914 - 1918 period Red Feather 'Scout Defence Corps hat badge'; pressed gilt metal fleur de lys' with stars, title scroll below, the reverse with two loop fittings and split pin, holder to base that the red feather plume rests in and ring to the top point to keep it steady. Very good condition, complete with original red feather now fragile.
Height of badge 35mm.

WW1 Scout Defence Corps was open to scouts of the age of 15, 16. and 17 and they were trained more of less as soldiers.
