WW2 Ministry of Information Emergency Committee Member official badge

A scarce original wartime period 'Ministry of Information Committee Member official lapel badge' large gilded brass example, inlaid with red, white and blue enamel. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.

The 'Ministry of Information Emergency Committee' was formed at the outbreak of war to ensure that official information was passed accurately and speedily to the the population after an AIR RAID or under conditions of INVASION. Uniforms were not worn and committee members were identified by this lapel badge. It was dissolved in 1946.
