WW1 N.E.S.Co Ltd Power Supply on war service badge

A very scarce original First World War period 'Newcastle upon Tyne Electric Supply Company war service badge', gilt and enamel example the reverse impressed with unusual maker's details 'J.E.Beale Ltd Bournmouth' and official low issue number '287'. Good condition, complete with original early round buttonhole fitting, small nick in the enamel in the 1 o' clock position.
Diameter 27mm.

'N.E.S.Co Ltd' established as the 'Newcastle upon Tyne Electric Supply Company' in 1889, renamed the 'North Eastern Electricity Supply company' in circa 1932, (also abbreviated to NESCo).
