Boy Scout For Merit medal circa 1918 to 1921
A rare original 2nd issue 1918 to circa 1921 full size 'Boy Scout Medal of Merit' unnamed as issued; silver plated the obverse with green enamel laurel wreath surround, incorporating a 'Be Prepared' motto scroll, the central green 'fleur de lys' without stars on a white enamel ground inscribed 'For Merit'. Very good condition, complete with original green silk ribbon and suspension bar with pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel.
Diameter 27mm.
The recipients of these particular Boy Scout Medal of Merit introduced in 1918 considered themselves very fortunate as they were usually presented by Baden Powell personally.
