Royal Free Hospital London nurses league silver badge

A scarce original circa 1954 'Royal Free Hospital nurses league award badge' in the form of a Maltese cross inlaid with white enamel and edged in red, the centre bearing a Queen Victoria Crown (the Royal having been granted in 1837), the reverse impressed with London silver hallmarks for 1954 and maker's details 'Toye & Co' and inscribed to the recipient 'A.MOODEY 230131'. Good condition, complete with original pin fitting, an old replacement hook and ring to
accommodate a safety chain, enamel with ding to left upper arm and minor surface scratches, not affecting the appearance.
