WW1 Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway war service badge

A very rare original First World War period circa 1914 gilt and enamel circular badge, 'Mid & Gt Northern Joint Railway' blue enamel title surround, Crowned 'Railway Service' to the centre on white enamel ground, the reverse with maker's details 'J.W.Wylie & Co London', impressed with very low official issue number 'S772'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.
