A scarce original wartime period 'De Havilland Aircraft Company Air Raid Precautions warden badge'; silver plated example depicting the companies aeroplane logo in red enamel, with the initials 'DH' above an 'ARP' title, all on electric blue ground; the reverse with maker's details 'Vaughtons Ltd B'Ham'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel, very minor surface scratches.

'De Havilland Aircraft Company Limited' was founded in 1920 by Geoffrey de Havilland at Stag Lane Aerodrome, Edgware, North London. It was bought out by 'Hawker Siddeley' in 1960 and kept as a separate company until 1963.
