Amalgamated Engineering AEU trade union badge

A good original circa 1940's period 'Amalgamated Engineering Union lapel badge'; circular brass example, the centre bearing red triangle to centre 'AEU' within, 'Educate Organise Control' flanking the three sides on white enamel ground, the reverse with maker's details 'Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham' and 'REG 677378' a registered, design and patent date of 1920. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting, enamel perfect.

The 'Amalgamated Engineering Union' was formed in 1920, it merged with the Amalgamated Union of Foundry Workers (AUFW) to form the 'Amalgamated Union of Engineering & Foundry Workers' in 1968.
