A scarce original circa 1950's period 'National Federation of the Women's Institutes WI Handicraft Guild proficiency badge'; silver plated suspension bar bearing 'HG' green enamel cypher from which depends a grey silk ribbon bearing proficiency bars 'Dressmaking A.' (1st Class) 'Book Casing B.' (2nd Class), 'Book Casing A.' (1st Class). Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, minor flaw to enamel of top bar, otherwise perfect.
Height approx 73mm.

‘The Guild of Learners of Handicrafts’ was founded in 1920's, its name was changed to 'The Handicraft Guild'
in circa 1950's.
