A scarce original First World War period British made 'New Zealand War Contingent Association badge'; Crowned gilt fern leaf wreath 'W.C.A.' at the base, blue enamel title circlet, the centre inscribed 'OFFICIAL VISITOR' on white enamel ground. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel perfect, gilt finish remains bright.

War Contingent Association W.C.A. was formed in 1914 within ten days of the outbreak of First World War to raise funds, equip and support hospitals, convalescent homes, and canteens for wounded New Zealand soldiers across Britain.
