H.M.Queen Alexandra's Committee Jubilee Institute for Nurses medal and case
A superb quality circa 1914 rare award for the 'Queen Victoria's Jubilee Institute for Nurses'; crowned enamelled Queen Alexandra cypher of crossed initial 'A' on silver gilt oval, bearing the legend 'H.M.Queen Alexandra's Committee' with a classical representation of mother and child to the centre, the reverse within the legend 'Queen Victoria's Jubilee Institute for Nurses 1887' a crowned shield bearing 'VRI' cypher to left side, and crossed 'A' cypher to right, impressed with London silver hallmarks for 1914 and maker's details 'T&S'. Very good condition, complete with original silk ribbon bow suspension bar with pin fittings, enamel with very minor service wear and housed in a velvet lined fitted case
