Queen Alexandras Royal Army Nursing Corps QARANC cap badge

A scarce original short lived 1950 -1952 other ranks pattern 'Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps bi-metal cap badge'; King George VI crowned wreath bearing "Sub cruce Candida" (Under the White Cross) scrolls, the Dannebrog lettered "A" for Alexandra to the center "Q.A.R.A.N.C" with applied white metal title below. Good condition, complete with original two loop fittings, minor service wear.
Height 40mm.

State Registered Nurses were granted officer status in 1904 but did not receive regular commissions until QARANC was formed in 1949. A year later other ranks were recruited.
