Royal Air Force Air Gunners Association AGA lapel badge circa 1950s
A very scarce original circa 1950's RAF 'Air Gunners Association' lapel badge; gilded brass example representing a winged bullet with the embossed initials 'AGA'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole fitting.

The 'Air Gunners Association' was formed in March 1949 as a result of an advertisement in 'Air Mail' the 'Royal Air Force Association' magazine . The first news sheet entitled 'THE TURRET' was produced in May 1949, stating that 'Application for membership is open to any person, serving or ex-service, who has been awarded the A.G. or W.A.G. brevet in any of His Majesty's Air Forces.' Their Latin motto being 'Vigilantia et Virtute' (Vigilence and Valor).
